To Write Anyway
December Photo Collage + Poem
Some mornings it takes everything in me to cross the threshold of my bedroom door, turn a new page, let daylight pour over my face like a revival, warming my cold, stiff movements. Solitude is the cover I tuck into at night, when shadows stain my fingertips from picking the fruit of my darkest hours, searching for sweet sentiments to hold onto. Courage looks like moving from here, when I want to hibernate in safe memories. Hide in the innocent becoming from younger years, still ripe with grace. But life lies waiting for us – a new day crisp with possibility, even when we turn away. Sometimes we forget the beauty of our unfolding story is not the words on the paper, but the messy ink, from the pen, still bravely flowing.
Every month I release a new Monthly Reflection with a photo collage of my original photography that reflects the mood of that month and a poem that goes with it.
In case you missed the last two:
November - Morning Walks
October - October
